International Energy Law - Perupetro Camisea Contract
We served as the principal outside international legal advisor to Perupetro in its final negotiations with Royal Dutch Shell and Mobil on the Camisea field exploitation license, which included substantial work on the transportation components of that license with Perupetro and other agencies of the Peruvian government. An important feature of the Camisea contract included providing objective advice as to the pros and cons of energy policies relevant to this very large national resource, assessing commercial and country risks, and providing judgments with regard to viable business, contract, and regulatory strategies to accommodate such risks and to optimize benefits to Peru.
