Crowell & Moring's Government Contracts Group Named a Law360 "Practice Group of the Year" for the Eighth Consecutive Year

Washington – January 29, 2018: Crowell & Moring LLP is pleased to announce that its Government Contracts Group has been recognized as one of Law360’s “Practice Groups of the Year” for government contracts. This is the eighth consecutive year that the group has earned this honor.

Law360 spotlighted the group’s major accomplishments in 2017, including its role in helping AT&T to secure a public-private partnership worth more than $45 billion, and successfully defending a $17 billion U.S. Department of Defense health care contract award for Health Net.

The group also played a major role in numerous acquisitions in 2017, including longtime client Hewlett Packard Enterprise’s $8.5 billion merger with Computer Sciences Corp. to create a consolidated entity named DXC Technology. The newly created company expects public-sector sales exceeding $5 billion worldwide. Peter J. Eyre, co-chair of the Government Contracts Group, said that the deal involved numerous lawyers across the firm, as well as multiple internal and external advisers.

“When we support a deal of such magnitude and complexity, there are extensive government contracts issues that require experience from many of our lawyers,” Eyre said. "We are constantly looking for new ways to innovate and deliver value to our clients, particularly in these kinds of complicated, high visibility matters.”

Among the group’s highlights from 2017 was a Law360 Government Contracts MVP of the Year recognition for partner Amy Laderberg O’Sullivan.
