Washington, D.C. - February 1, 2009: For the second consecutive year, Crowell & Moring LLP is pleased to announce that the firm's International Dispute Resolution Group has been included in Global Arbitration Review's 2009 second annual GAR 100, a guide to the top 100 law firms with international arbitration capabilities. GAR is one of the leading journals of public and private arbitration.

According to GAR, "The names to know are: Alexandre de Gramont, Stuart Newberger, and Arif Ali, who joined from Fulbright & Jaworski...In the younger strata, Baiju Vasani, who accompanied Ali from the same firm, is regarded as a name for the future. In London, partner Jane Wessel covers arbitration. (The group) also completed two strategic lateral hires: Daniel Vielleville, 38 - he joined from Squire Sanders & Dempsey in Miami (a dual-qualified lawyer - Venezuela and the US); and Samaa Haridi, 32 - she joined from Thacher Proffitt & Wood (an Egyptian-US national)," said GAR.

The GAR 100 analyzes the top 100 arbitration practices in the world, as selected by GAR editors and reporters. To determine law firm rankings, GAR uses a variety of criteria including reputation, current work, and experience. The final list represents GAR's subjective opinion.

Arif Hyder Ali, co-chair of Crowell & Moring's International Dispute Resolution Group, has also been named to The International Who's Who of Commercial Arbitration Lawyers.
