Crowell & Moring Elects Six New Partners and Promotes Eight Associates to Counsel

Washington, D.C. – January 2, 2015: Crowell & Moring LLP is pleased to announce that it has elected six attorneys to the firm's partnership effective January 1, 2015. The firm has also promoted eight associates to the position of counsel. The new partners and counsel have been promoted from within the ranks of the firm's Washington, D.C., Brussels, New York, Orange County, and San Francisco offices.

The newly elected partners are:

Leslie A. Davis, a member of the Insurance/Reinsurance and Bankruptcy groups and resident in the firm's Washington, D.C. office. She concentrates her practice on representing and counseling insurers in all aspects of dispute resolution practice, and focuses on insurance coverage litigation, both at the trial and appellate levels. She also has over 10 years' experience representing insurers in policyholder bankruptcy cases, and counseling insurers regarding potential implications raised by prospective or actual policyholder bankruptcy cases. Davis received her B.A. in criminal justice from the University of Maryland and her J.D., with honors, from University of Maryland School of Law.

Karen C. Hermann, a member of the Corporate Group and resident in the firm's Washington, D.C. office. Her practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, carve-out transactions, joint ventures, and strategic alliances for government contractors and technology companies. In addition, her practice includes a wide range of intellectual property and commercial contract transactions, including license agreements, technology development agreements, reseller and distribution agreements, and outsourcing and services agreements. Hermann is a graduate of Fontbonne College, where she received her B.A. in English. She earned her J.D. from The George Washington University Law School.

Jan-Diederik Lindemans, a member of the firm's Litigation & Trial and Intellectual Property groups and resident in the firm's Brussels office. His practice focuses on intellectual property, trade secrets, and entertainment law. He assists a wide variety of clients in predominantly contentious matters with the core of his clients ranging from the chemical, life sciences, and biotechnological sectors to the advertising, media, entertainment, and fashion industries. Lindemans attended the Catholic University of Leuven, where he received his LLM. He also attended the State University of Ghent, for a post academic course in biotechnology.

Stephen J. McBrady, a member of  the Government Contracts Group and resident in the firm's Washington, D.C. office. McBrady works with government contractors on a range of federal, state, and international procurement matters, including compliance counseling, DCAA audits and internal investigations, and cost allowability issues under the FAR cost principles and the Cost Accounting Standards. He also frequently represents clients in high-stakes litigation before the boards of contracts appeals and state and federal courts around the country. McBrady received his B.A. from Cornell University and his J.D. from The George Washington University Law School.

Jennifer A. Ray, a member of the Tax Group and resident in the firm's Washington, D.C. office. She advises clients on tax aspects of corporate and partnership transactions, tax planning matters, and executive compensation and employee benefit issues. She works with clients across a number of industries with a particular focus on energy, investment funds, financial institutions, and health care. Ray received her A.B. from Princeton University and her J.D., magna cum laude, from Harvard Law School, where she was an executive editor of the Journal of Law and Public Policy.

Todd D. Rosenberg, a member of the Corporate Group and resident in the firm's Washington, D.C. office. His practice focuses on domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, financings, and complex commercial agreements, including outsourcing agreements, service agreements, and intellectual property licensing agreements. He frequently teams with the firm's Health Care Group on transactions, including pharmacy benefit management outsourcing agreements and agreements to establish innovative care-delivery arrangements (e.g., accountable care organizations and other strategic collaborations). Rosenberg received his B.A., magna cum laude, from Emory University and his J.D., cum laude, from University of Pennsylvania Law School, where he served as comments editor for the University of Pennsylvania Law Review.

Crowell & Moring associates promoted to counsel are:  Rebecca Baden Chaney, Charlotte Gillingham, Elliot Golding, and Lauren B. Patterson in Washington, D.C.; Suzanne E. Rode and Jacob Zambrzycki in San Francisco; Kelly H. Tsai in New York; and Ryan C. Wong in Orange County.
