Crowell & Moring LLP is a leading employer in the legal services industry, employing more than 330 support staff in various departments including, accounting and finance, conflicts, human resources, information systems, legal secretaries, research services, marketing & business development, operations staff, practice support, practice technology, and practice group administration.

With over 350 lawyers, our principal office is located in Washington, DC at 1001 Pennsylvania Avenue, close to the federal courts, the federal departments and agencies, and Congress. We also have offices in California, New York, London and Brussels to serve clients with interests in those areas.

Crowell & Moring provides a detailed Orientation Program for all new employees. Additional training and computer software courses are provided on a monthly basis.

Secretarial Support Services
The Crowell & Moring Legal Secretarial Department is comprised of more than 130 assigned secretaries. Assigned legal secretaries provide support to two or more attorneys. Supplemental Administrative Support Teams are an alternative to the directly assigned floater system for providing back-up support when assigned secretarial coverage is unavailable a new secretarial support solution has been modeled. Each secretary will be assigned a back-up secretary with practice group ties. The firm offers its staff a stable, professional, and congenial work environment. We take great pride in the tenure of our secretaries; several have been with the firm for more than 30 years. Our secretarial staff is a diverse ethnic and cultural group.

Information Technology Systems
Crowell & Moring LLP is committed to the use of superior technology firm wide to give lawyers and staff the tools necessary to provide quality service to clients. Technological advancements are supported by firm management and carried out by a specialized information systems group. The IS group is segmented into teams responsible for Network Operations, Application Development, User Support and Training, and Hardware and Telecommunications Support. The Information Technology Systems group is dedicated to hiring the best and brightest computing professionals to support and expand the use of technology.

Research Services
The Library at Crowell & Moring LLP supports the firm's research and information requirements. It contains over 40,000 volumes and employs twelve full-time staff members. In addition to maintaining the print collection, the Library is also responsible for facilitating the use of many electronic resources, including commercial databases, CD-ROMs, internally-created databases, and the Internet. Services provided by the Library include research and reference, legislative and regulatory tracking, research training, and document retrieval. Crowell & Moring is committed to maintaining an excellent Library staff to support the firm's research and information needs.

Marketing and Business Development
Crowell & Moring's Marketing Department assists the firm's practice groups, committees, and individual attorneys with client development and cross-selling activities such as creation of marketing materials, seminar planning, public relations and database development and maintenance.

Conflicts
The Conflicts Department performs corporate research and database searches to identify potential conflicts of interest for proposed new clients and new matters of the Firm. It coordinates all necessary paperwork and maintains the integrity of the Conflicts database.

Operations
The areas of Facilities, Office Services, Planning and Records Management make up Crowell & Moring's Operations Department. The diversity and extent of services provided by the group requires individuals with a wide variety of talents. The department's primary goal is to afford the firm's attorneys and staff the support tools necessary to serve our clients.

Practice Support
Legal support professionals are an integral part of our success at Crowell & Moring. Our Practice Support Program provides a challenging and rewarding team environment in which support professionals work side-by-side with attorneys to deliver high-quality services to our clients.

Our Practice Support Program features a comprehensive training curriculum and offers increased responsibility and professional growth to personnel. The Practice Support Program includes the gamut of case support levels through specialized support.  The Program includes law clerks who work with us part-time while attending law school.
