Nearly 100 Crowell & Moring Volunteers Serve in Greater DC Cares Servathon

Washington, D.C. – May 23, 2005: Nearly 100 Crowell & Moring members, including their friends and family, volunteered with the Greater DC Cares Servathon Saturday, May 21, 2005. The volunteers helped the Kensington, MD-based Crossway Community, which offers supportive housing for at-risk mothers and their children, a community training institute for job and career growth, a community day school, and a community center. The group painted rooms, created a garden, and baked casseroles.

Each year, the Greater DC Cares Servathon gathers thousands of DC, Maryland, and Virginia residents in one of the region’s largest community service events. The day-long community service event is a powerful demonstration geared to raise awareness of volunteerism 365 days a year.

Crowell & Moring enjoys a long tradition of community and pro bono service. More than two-thirds of Crowell & Moring attorneys regularly litigate disputes on behalf of international corporations, start-up businesses, and individuals. Crowell & Moring's extensive client work ranges from advising on one of the world’s largest telecommunications mergers to founding the nation’s leading victims of terrorism practice.
